Secured a cover feature in the New York Times that explores the transformational experiences offered at the 2014 Lightning in a Bottle Music and Arts Festival. This was the first in-depth portrait of the growing transformational festival movement by mainstream media.

Shocase Presents

 

We created an original documentary series called Shocase PRESENTS. The series explores the world of Marketing and Creativity for a new social network called Shocase. The Confluence wrote, produced, shot, directed, animated, and edited this series. Our original content was featured in Adweek and praised for the quality of production and it’s thought-provoking perspectives. The series positioned Shocase as an authority in the marketing world – a platform for creativity, staying connected, and building business opportunities through professional interactions.

With each episode, we created a 30-second trailer and several 15 second social media pieces to stoke buzz, momentum, and increase social engagement with the series.

Developed content, strategy and publicity for Turntable. fm’s (online music platform) launch at SXSW overseeing all media/press. Our campaign included developing giveaway strategies, creating and distributing branded videos / images / content, obtaining founder interviews, and managing onsite press along with following up with hundreds of outlets on a one-on-one basis. Diplo, Flying Lotus, ?uestlove and Reggie Watts star in our mini-documentary centered around around the fusion of technology and music that is SXSW with additional performances by A-Trak and AraabMuzik.

Russell started The Confluence six years ago in the stages before “digital” and “publicity” were a unified concept — and has since lead many successful campaigns across a wide spectrum of verticals. Through that time Russell has gained valuable relationships with press, artists, brands and tastemakers as well as developed a set of best practices for techniques for running the most effective digital publicity campaigns. Currently, Russell leads campaign strategy and business development and all production elements for The Confluence. Recently, Russell lead a course on tastemaker marketing, at the prestigious General Assembly in Santa Monica, CA and been profiled on Millennial Magazine as a pioneer of digital strategy. Russell graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Marketing and an emphasis in entrepreneurship.

Melissa produces video content, strategizes and manages digital publicity, content marketing and social media campaigns for music festivals, entertainment and lifestyle brands. Prior to The Confluence, she lived in the Bay Area and was a public relations consultant for government agencies while simultaneously owning and running an entertainment agency producing circus theater and music videos, while providing cutting-edge entertainment for festivals, corporate events and private

Eric’s creative and strategic talent helped build the Apple brand from a little computer company to the global cultural icon it is today. Eric is credited with award winning work including the iPod Silhouettes campaign, the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” campaign, and the iPhone/iPad campaigns you see today. Eric’s work has received several honors including: Campaign of the Decade (“I’m a Mac I’m a PC”), “Outdoor Campaign of the Decade” (iPod Silhouettes), and “Agency of the Decade.”
